Precision Skiving Tubes are made from heat treatment of cold drawn, and then skived and roller burnished. They usually can be used for manufacturing custom hydraulic cylinder especially for big bore size.Skiving and roller burnishing is finishing method that does not remove the material in the form of chips, but rather transforms the surface layer. Precision skiving tubes from DATONG HYDRAULIC are made of ST52.3 BK+S (E355SR) material – with standard of DIN2391, low-carbon steel grade with guaranteed weldability.
Seamless hot rolled hollows are obtained with controlled concentricity on an rolling line and then drawn to precision tubes with significant cross-section reduction improving the geometry and strengthens of the tubes. The cold deformed tubes are then Inside skived and roller burnished (SRB) using state of the art equipment and tools supplied by well-known producers with extensive expertise for these processes.
Precision skiving tubes and honed tubes are tested with high sensitivity ultrasonic meth-ods and additionally machined on outside surface using a center-less grinding process in order to remove any surface imperfection which can be potential fatigue cracking sources.
Adequate steel chemistry as well as suitable heat treatments performed before and after cold working are used in order to obtain the mechanical properties .
